George Karaminas
(or Yorgos in Greek!)
About Me
I’m just another human being on this Earth, trying his best to live a good life, rich in purpose and meaning. All I really want to do is live up to my own word, keep my promises to myself, and be a person that I am proud of. I am married to the girl of my dreams, and I am father of two incredible children (now teenagers). My family is my proudest accomplishment, and the 3 of them are my greatest teachers. Of course it takes constant work, mainly on myself, and it’s a job I’m committed to for the rest of my life.
What I love most is helping others, being of service. Over time, I have developed a multitude of skills and experience, which I’ve used to the benefit of countless people. I am a modern handyman in every sense of the word. In this era of ultra-specialized labor and the typical person being defined by a single profession, I consciously choose to be a generalist — in order to be most useful, to myself and others. As the saying goes, specialization is for insects! I continue to learn the fundamentals of everything I find necessary or interesting, and it keeps me versatile and curious.
I’ve worn very many hats over the years, and what I like the most is learning new skills for the purpose of applying them to a real-world project. I am very detail-oriented and I insist on high quality work over speed.
I have always excelled academically, but nowadays I much prefer to learn by doing, since it makes new knowledge more useful and lasting. I’ve often been praised for my customer service and people skills. I’m very good at creating plans, strategies, and especially optimizing and automating processes. I love efficiency! It stimulates me to explore a variety of new domains and take on difficult challenges, especially those that help me grow and that are in alignment with my values.
Below you can see a sample of things I’ve done in my life, using my various talents and experience to help others. It can give you an idea of (but is not limited to) what I am able to help you with.
